It seems inevitable that a potential employer is going to attempt to gather information about what you are NOT telling them, so what kind of impression are you making with your online profiles or tweets? You are generally safe with venting via Twitter because less than half of your followers actually read your tweets, and the chances that your hashtags will go viral are slim.   FALSE  – at least the first part. Bad networking can harm career success, but good networking can help you get a desired job and to move up in that job. Good networking is a positive experience for both parties. Some tips for good networking include: Preparing in advance for interviews scheduling a time to network rather than just dropping in and trying to network asking questions that show interest in the person with whom you are meeting writing thank you notes after meeting with someone staying in touch after networking Networking is a two way street and should be done by both parties.
